Sergen Yalçın reveals his championship favorite

Most recently managing the Süper Lig team Antalyaspor, Sergen Yalçın has taken a break from coaching to begin working as a sports commentator.

Evaluating Süper Lig matches alongside Candaş Tolga Işık on Ekol TV, Yalçın made notable comments following Fenerbahçe's 3-2 away victory against Trabzonspor.

Sergen Yalçın revealed his favorite to win the Süper Lig title.

'THE SEASON IS OVER FOR TRABZONSPOR'

"There was a poor trend for Trabzonspor. Now it has headed toward an even worse trend. We are only in November and the season is over. Only the Turkish Cup remains."

'THEY WRITHE ON THE GROUND AS IF THEY'VE BEEN SHOT'

"I cannot understand this mentality among the players. They are constantly on the ground inside the penalty area. They throw themselves down. They writhe on the ground as if they've been shot with a gun.

Don't do it, be a little honest. They are also putting the referee in a very difficult position. They throw themselves down in such a way that if you saw it, you'd think they needed to be taken to the hospital on a stretcher... I don't think the referee managed the match very poorly."

'IF IT CONTINUES THIS WAY, GALATASARAY WILL BE CHAMPION'

"There are players earning such high salaries. Anyone who walks into Fenerbahçe earns 3-4 million. And I'm saying that on the low end; there are even higher ones. Such poor play is unacceptable.

If the play continues like this, they will face trouble. I have never seen the game improve at Fenerbahçe. It is not very important for Fenerbahçe to win in Turkey. They will win with this squad anyway. The game needs to improve with each passing day.

If Fenerbahçe continues this way, Galatasaray will be the champion. Because this style of play will trip you up somewhere along the way."
