Genesio's first response to Mourinho's 'unlucky draw' comment

Fenerbahçe advanced to the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after securing a 6-4 aggregate victory over Lugano in the 2nd qualifying round. The Yellow-Navies have been paired with French side Lille in this round.

Lille manager Bruno Genesio evaluated the matchup.

'DETAILS DETERMINE EVERYTHING'

Expressing his confidence in his players, Genesio stated, "Matches in the qualifying rounds are always difficult. It doesn't matter if it's Fenerbahçe or Lugano. My opponent doesn't matter. Fenerbahçe fell behind today, then they came back. The margins in these matches are very small and details determine everything. Therefore, we must take the field with high concentration in both matches and push our luck to the end. We have enough quality, and I have full confidence in my team for both matches."

Fenerbahçe will play the first leg against Lille away on Tuesday, August 6. The return leg of the tie will be played at Ülker Stadium on August 13. The team that wins the tie will advance to the play-off round.

Jose Mourinho had said in his statement after the Lugano match, "Lille drew an unlucky opponent. They will play against us."
