Gerçek Yaşar, who died of a heart attack at the derby, laid to rest in Mersin

48-year-old Gerçek Yaşar, who lost his life after suffering a heart attack in the stands during the Fenerbahçe-Beşiktaş derby played on September 5 in the 4th week of the Süper Lig, was laid to rest in his hometown of Mut, Mersin.

Following the procedures in Istanbul, a military ceremony was held for Yaşar at Laal Paşa Mosque after his body was brought to Mut. After the funeral prayer held following the ceremony, Yaşar was buried in the Municipal New Cemetery.

In addition to Yaşar's family and relatives, local officials, Fenerbahçe Club executives, and citizens attended the funeral ceremony.

It was stated that Gerçek Yaşar became a veteran in Bingöl, where he served as a gendarmerie second lieutenant in 2003, and later began working at the Mut Forest Management Directorate.

It was learned that Yaşar had gone to the stadium to watch a match from the stands for the first time with his son, and lost his life as a result of a heart attack he suffered during the second half of the match.
