Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness, in a statement to the German press, said that in addition to their own club, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also trying to bring Xabi Alonso on board as manager.
Speaking to the German press, Hoeness stated the following:
"Alonso has proven that he can manage a big team. Clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Liverpool are working on this."
According to a report in BirGün, Xabi Alonso, who has displayed a successful performance at the helm of Bayer Leverkusen this season, has a contract with the club until 2026.
Bayer Leverkusen, which sits in the leadership seat in the Bundesliga, has also advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
According to Hoeness's statement, it was noted that Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool will leave their posts at the end of the season.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, had extended Carlo Ancelotti's contract until 2026.
