Giresunspor President Nahid Yamak, from the 1. Lig teams, made a statement on his social media account regarding a video that recently became a topic of discussion on social media, which features footage of himself and some former executives.
President Yamak stated that the video in question was recorded before his term as club president and that he had been threatened with this video previously during the process when investigations into the past periods of the Giresunspor Club were being moved to the court stage. Yamak said, "I felt the need to make this statement to convey accurate and truthful information to the public regarding the video shared on social media and the internet environment in recent days, which directly targets me and Giresunspor. The video in question was recorded without my consent on August 21, 2022, in an environment where I was with my friends, at a time when I did not hold any presidency or executive position at Giresunspor. After I took office as Giresunspor president, and especially at the stage when the investigations carried out regarding the past periods of Giresunspor reached the lawsuit stage, and before the video in question was spread at the local and national level, I was threatened through the video in various ways. The video in question was first published at a support night organized for Giresunspor. This time was specifically chosen. The goal is to create the impression in the public eye that the aid collected for Giresunspor was spent by me and my friends on entertainment and to prevent aid from being given to Giresunspor. Because I am a follower of the investigations and lawsuits filed regarding past periods, those who are parties to this process are trying to discredit and intimidate me with images that I am not proud of but which contain my private life," he said.
I WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE
Stating, "I did not come into existence with the Giresunspor presidency. I did not gain any benefit through Giresunspor," Nahid Yamak said, "I have always paid a price for Giresunspor and I will continue to pay it. However, I will hold those who exist through Giresunspor, those who advertise through Giresunspor, and those who unfairly obtain benefits from Giresunspor accountable before the law, both as the Giresunspor president, as a Giresunspor fan, and as someone personally harmed by what has been done. I will use all my legal rights against those who spread the circulated video without any news value, those who insult me and my loved ones through the video, and those who intentionally associate the video with my Giresunspor presidency and show me as a victim through it. I want it to be known that I will not give up without holding those who put Giresunspor in this situation accountable in the way I believe, and without bringing Giresunspor to the bright ground it deserves," he said.
ACCESS BLOCK IMPOSED ON THE VIDEO
Following the statement, according to information obtained from President Nahid Yamak's lawyers, it was learned that the court issued an access block decision on the video in question within the scope of the law on the protection of personal data and the violation of the privacy of private life.
