Göztepe Club announced that it had withdrawn a social media post congratulating Amedspor on its promotion to the Süper Lig in response to the backlash it received. The yellow-reds issued a statement drawing attention to the sensitivity of their fans.

The information provided by the club stated that the successes and championships achieved by all clubs to date have been met with appreciation. The statement included the following: "As Göztepe Sports Club, in line with our belief in the unifying power of sports, we have respected and celebrated the successes and championships of all clubs to date. With this understanding, we also congratulated Amedspor on its promotion to the Süper Lig. However, we have observed with regret that this congratulatory post made by our club was pulled in different directions, outside of its intended purpose, causing our fans, who are not the subject of this matter, to be targeted. Taking our fans' sensitivities into account, it has been decided to remove the post in question."

Göztepe emphasized that they would continue their determination to protect the unifying spirit of sports and that they would always prioritize the values and sensitivities of their community, while pointing out that the upcoming Gaziantep FK match holds great importance for the club's history. The statement continued: "It is clear that we need unity and solidarity more than ever in one of the most important matches in our club's history, which we will play against Gaziantep FK. In this direction, we have full faith that our entire community will stand by our team shoulder to shoulder, as one heart."
