While the "UEFA penalty" allegations raised regarding Kerem Aktürkoğlu's contract and transfer at Fenerbahçe have sparked debate, one of the club's former executives, Hakan Safi, made statements regarding the issue.
Speaking to a television channel, Safi expressed that the allegations are baseless and stated that the process has been closed.
"WE HAVE PROVIDED EVERYTHING UEFA REQUESTED"
Providing information regarding the process conducted with UEFA, Safi stated that the club does not face any risk of sanctions:
"I have made a statement regarding Kerem. Our national player is one of the most valuable names for Fenerbahçe and the national team. We consulted with the federation and forwarded the information notes requested by UEFA to the relevant places. We completed this process two weeks ago. I do not understand why it has come to the agenda again now."
Suggesting that the allegations are being kept on the agenda intentionally, Safi used the expression, "There is no situation warranting a penalty. From this hour on, anyone who writes news against Kerem will find me against them."
"THIS DISCUSSION HARMS THE CLUB"
Arguing that the agenda negatively affects unity within the club, Safi said that the matter should be closed:
"Blowing these things out of proportion does not benefit us. Let the kid do his job. Let's close the subject. Those who speak from now on are enemies of Fenerbahçe. From this hour on, the matter is closed."
Safi continued his speech with the following expressions:
"I am a soldier of Fenerbahçe. I am no one's man. Wherever the community wants to see me, I am always at the service of Fenerbahçe."
HE ALSO TOUCHED UPON ELECTION DISCUSSIONS
Touching upon the internal club agenda, Safi made the following assessments regarding Aziz Yıldırım and Sadettin Saran:
"Aziz Yıldırım is our elder. Misunderstandings can happen, they can be resolved. We have no problem with any Fenerbahçe fan. We are also waiting for a clear statement from Sadettin Saran regarding whether there will be an election or not."
