Halil Umut Meler to officiate Poland vs. Austria match at EURO 2024

FIFA-licensed Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler will officiate the match between Poland and Austria in Group D of the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024).

According to the statement on the Turkish Football Federation's website, Halil Umut Meler will officiate the match, which will kick off at 19:00 TSI on Friday, June 21, at the Berlin Olympic Stadium, with Mustafa Emre Eyisoy and Kerem Ersoy serving as his assistants.

The fourth official for the match will be Rade Obrenovic from the Football Association of Slovenia.

Meler also officiated the Belgium vs. Slovakia match played at the 2024 European Football Championship.

Halil Umut Meler (born August 1, 1986, in İzmir) is a Turkish football referee. He has held a FIFA badge since 2017.

He officiated his first Süper Lig match on September 18, 2015, in the game between İstanbul Başakşehir and Akhisar Belediyespor, which ended 2-0.

On June 29, 2017, Meler officiated his first European match in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round between Vojvodina and MFK Ružomberok. In the match, which ended 2-1, Meler issued 4 yellow cards.

He officiated the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship final, the 2nd League Play-off final, and the 2019 TFF Super Cup match.
