Hatay volleyball is waiting for support! The club's president, coach, and everything else

Hatay Volleyball Team's founding president and head coach Mehmet Bekmez shared the difficult conditions the team faces and their need for support. The team, which competes in the women's 2nd league, is currently in 3rd place and has earned a chance at the play-offs. However, they are struggling to find support due to the difficulties experienced after the earthquake.

SEARCH FOR JERSEY SPONSORSHIP

Bekmez stated that there are approximately 55 athletes on the team and that they want to make new jerseys for them. However, he expressed that they do not have any sponsors to cover the costs and are therefore looking for jersey sponsorship. He emphasized that costs such as jersey expenses, away game travel costs, and the needs of the athletes are among the expenses that the team has to cover.

DIFFICULT SEASON START AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CHALLENGES

Bekmez shared that the start of the season was poor and that they lost important athletes. At the same time, he mentioned the difficult conditions and losses in the city due to the impact of the earthquake. He expressed that they also suffered losses in his own family and faced great difficulties during this process. However, he explained that the continuation of sports activities such as volleyball and football helps children return to normal life, and that is why they continue their struggle as a team.

THE REASON FOR THE SEARCH AND ZEHRA GÜNEŞ

The head coach expressed the need for sponsorship to cover equipment purchases, away game travel costs, and various other expenses. He stated that because they have no supporters as a club, they are having great difficulty in covering these types of costs. Bekmez noted that one of the rare names to support the team is our national athlete Zehra Güneş.

EARTHQUAKE AND SPORTS

Bekmez noted that the Hatay Volleyball Team is a private club, not an institution like other clubs.

Bekmez shared that they have gone through a difficult process like other sports branches and that they are one of the clubs that suffered the most losses during this period. He stated that they only have one gym left outside the city and that transportation options are poor. He also expressed that because football is more popular, volleyball remains in the shadows and they have a harder time finding sponsors. Bekmez also said that he is the club's president, technical director, equipment manager, and shuttle driver.
