Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who left Fenerbahçe for Premier League side Brighton for a transfer fee of 30 million Euros, gave an exclusive interview after his first match.

Having played for Fenerbahçe for 6 seasons, Ferdi Kadıoğlu recently headed to Brighton for a transfer fee of 30 million Euros.

The national footballer made his debut in the English Premier League against Ipswich Town.

The star player spoke to Andy Naylor of The Athletic at a club event held after his first match. Here are the national star's statements:

'IT WAS A BIG STEP FOR ME'

"Coming to Istanbul from a small city in the Netherlands was a big step. It was a very big step for me and it wasn't easy; a new team, a new style of play. Everything was new, so I needed time to adapt. I am very happy with what I have achieved. I continued to believe in my qualities and in the end, everything worked out."

'AFTER THE EURO, IT WAS TIME'

"I was at Fenerbahçe for 6 years. The fans love me, I really love the club. Playing in front of those fans was incredible, especially in big matches. But after the European Football Championship with Turkey, it was time to step into a bigger league and improve myself. Brighton's plan was really interesting. They showed that players can develop more here. The manager was very clear in his explanation. I am very happy to be here."

''Mourinho really loves to win everything. He just wants to win the match. That is the most important thing, and he has some tricks to do that. The biggest lesson I learned from him is game management. Fabian also talked to us about this. If you are leading 1-0 or it is a tight match, in some situations, you have to be smart."

'I WAS USED TO PLAYING EVERY THREE DAYS IN TURKEY'

"The team here has great players in every position. I have to show myself to the coach. I need some time to adapt to the team and the league. I was used to playing every three days in Turkey because we also played in Europe. But the intensity during the match here is much higher, so that will be the biggest difference."
