Galatasaray Assistant Football Director Ayhan Akman announced his resignation in a written statement on his social media account, stating thaannounced. Reflecting on the successes he experienced in the yellow-red jersey, Akman stated the following:

"Dear Galatasaray fans. I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year. I wore the Galatasaray jersey with pride for 11 years. I fought to represent the glorious Galatasaray in the bestpossible way.I experienced championships, won trophies, and served as captain. I tasted magnificent joys and collected wonderful memories. With indescribable emotions, in KadıköyII remained at the cluband retired from football as captain while wearing the Galatasaray jersey, alongside the legendary 2011-2012 championship trophy we lifted. However, this was not the end for me;as a member of this community,I continued to serve Galatasaray.I held positions in coaching and professional management,and I always strove to do the bestfor our club. Being a member of our Galatasaray, where I had the privilege to be,we won a total of 7 championships as a player, 4 of which were together. I wholeheartedly believe that a new championship is on the way and that we will be at the top at the end of the 2025-2026 season.I believethis with all my heart.

As of today,I am stepping down.I am resigning frommy position asAssistant FootballDirector, whichI have heldfor 3.5 years.I wish our clubendless success in our league and European goals.I wish you success. I also wish God's mercy upon our brother Gökmen, whom we lost this evening, and I offer my condolences to his family, his lovedones, and our community."
