The events that unfolded between Morocco and Senegal in the grand final of the Africa Cup of Nations have left a mark on the tournament's history. In the 90+8th minute of the match, a penalty was awarded in favor of the Moroccan team, prompting the Senegalese players to react sharply and walk off the pitch in protest.
Senegal had already experienced tense moments after a goal scored in the 90+3rd minute was disallowed by referee Jean Jacques Ndala. However, the tension reached its peak following the penalty awarded to Morocco during stoppage time.
