Continuing his career in the G League, where the NBA develops its players, McClung made history as the first person to win the dunk contest three times consecutively.

Orlando Magic G League player Mac McClung has won the Slam Dunk Contest at NBA All-Star 2025 for the 3rd consecutive time. Becoming the first player to achieve this feat, McClung once again triumphed over his professional rivals playing in the NBA.
The skills challenge, 3-point contest, and slam dunk contest were held on the second day of the event, which took place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, USA. In the highly anticipated slam dunk contest, Mac McClung (Osceola Magic), Matas Buzelis (Chicago Bulls), Stephon Castle (San Antonio Spurs), and Andre Jackson Jr (Milwaukee Bucks) competed.
Reaching the final alongside Castle, McClung received a perfect score of 50 on all his dunks. Performing spectacular dunks, including a 360-degree dunk, a dunk over Cleveland Cavaliers center Evan Mobley, and a dunk over a car, McClung became the winner of the competition.
McClung made history as the first basketball player in NBA history to win the slam dunk contest for the 3rd consecutive time.

In the final of the 3-point contest, 2020 champion Buddy Hield (Golden State Warriors), Tyler Herro (Miami Heat), and Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers) faced off.
In the final of the competition, where the last two years' winner Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks) was eliminated in the first round, Herro scored 24 points to surpass his rivals and secure his first championship.
The skills challenge was won by Team Cavaliers, consisting of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. In the competition, the duo of Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama (Team Spurs) were disqualified for throwing balls randomly to save time instead of shooting.
