Hüseyin Göçek, who retired from refereeing, officiated a match in England

Hüseyin Göçek, who ended his refereeing career in Turkey in 2023, has returned to the pitch in England. The former Süper Lig referee took charge of the match between Fulham and Aston Villa in the U18 Premier League.

The 49-year-old Göçek served as the center referee for the Fulham U18 vs. Aston Villa U18 match. The game, played at Motspur Park, ended in a 5-5 draw, with Göçek issuing two yellow cards during the match.

Göçek, who officiated 293 matches in the Süper Lig and also refereed numerous games in Europe, had left field refereeing following a decision made by the Turkish Football Federation in July 2023.

At the time, the TFF had announced that Hüseyin Göçek and Suat Arslanboğa would continue their careers as Video Assistant Referees (VAR). Following this decision, Göçek had ended his refereeing career.

It has been learned that Göçek, who later settled in England, has begun refereeing there.
