In his statement, Gündoğan said, "The reports that have appeared in the press over the last few days regarding Ilkay do not reflect the truth. I have not met with any Galatasaray executives regarding Ilkay before the Bayern Munich match. There have been no developments, meetings, or any contact made with us on this matter. I want to state this clearly. Neither I nor Ilkay can make sense of how these reports emerged. Ilkay is happy at Barcelona and is focused on the goals he wants to achieve there."
