Infantino officially announces: World Cup decision for Iran

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that Iran will participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In his statement at the 76th FIFA Congress in Vancouver, Canada, Infantino said, "Iran will participate in the 2026 World Cup and will play its matches in the USA."

Iran, which is in Group G of the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico between June 11 and July 19, will compete against Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.
