ISIS threat to Champions League matches: Security measures increased!

The ISIS terrorist organization issued a threat of attack ahead of the Champions League matches to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pro-ISIS media outlets called for attacks on the matches scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

UEFA announced that it is aware of the threats against the matches to be played in Madrid, Paris, and London.

Ade Adelekan of the London Metropolitan Police stated in a statement regarding the Arsenal match that measures have been taken to ensure the match proceeds safely.

Adelekan said, "We are working closely with the teams' security teams to ensure the match proceeds safely."

Interior ministers in France and Spain also announced that security measures have been increased.

Making a statement ahead of the PSG - Barcelona match in Paris, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said that the threat was directed at the quarter-final matches in general.

A UEFA spokesperson stated that they are in cooperation with the authorities for the relevant matches.

The statement also emphasized that all matches will be played as planned, with "necessary security measures" in place.

In its call for attacks, ISIS has targeted the Emirates Stadium in London, the Bernabeu and Metropolitano stadiums in Madrid, and the Parc des Princes in Paris.

I HOPE IT IS JUST A THREAT

Responding to a question about the threats at a pre-match press conference, PSG coach Luis Enrique said, "Who wouldn't be worried by the threat of terrorists?"

Luis Enrique added, "I hope these are just threats and nothing will happen."

One of the attacks carried out in Paris, the capital of France, on November 13, 2015, which claimed the lives of 130 people, targeted the area where a France-Germany friendly match was being played.

ISIS has also published a threatening message regarding the European Championship matches to be held in Germany.
