İsmail Kartal: 'This is a record in Turkey'

Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal made a statement after the Başakşehir match.

In his statement, İsmail Kartal said, "This victory is very, very important. Başakşehir has been on the rise in recent weeks and was a good team. We showed that we can beat anyone when we put forth our own strong game. When it was 11 against 11, we had 5-6 one-hundred-percent goal-scoring opportunities. We touched the ball in the opponent's penalty area 71 times."

Stating that this is a record, Kartal said, "This is probably a record in Turkey. 30 of these were in the first half when it was 11 against 11. After the opponent was reduced to 10 men, we played with more pressure. They closed down a lot. We had difficulty breaking down the closed defense. We dominated the match from start to finish. We displayed our own style of football. We won 1-0, but we could have won by a larger margin. We did not concede any chances throughout the match. Such matches are stressful and tense. I congratulate my players for the win."

Regarding Bonucci, İsmail Kartal said, "Leonardo Bonucci does not have anything very serious. I did not include him in the squad as a precaution."
