The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is preparing to head to a congress.
Following Erdal Alkış, Servet Yardımcı, and İsmail Hacıosmanoğlu, İsmail Uyanık, one of the former presidents of Samsunspor, has also announced his candidacy.
Uyanık announced his candidacy for the TFF presidency at a press conference he held at a hotel in the city.
Stating that he decided to become a candidate in this recent period to make amends with football, following the encouragement and insistence of young people from Samsun, football fans from Samsun, and football fans across Turkey, Uyanık said, "Today, I am announcing my candidacy for the presidency of the Turkish Football Federation in the upcoming elections."
EMPHASIS ON CLEAN FOOTBALL
Expressing that he announced his candidacy with the hope of having clean football and successful football teams in Turkey, Uyanık stated the following:
"I am announcing my candidacy together with those who believe that football teams should be saved from debts and technical bankruptcy, that the national team should be successful again, and that our teams should be able to become European champions again. In this process, this is an opportunity to discuss the truths I know on behalf of football and to convey these messages to the public more comfortably... I believe that there are many competent and clean football figures with whom we can unite under the right slogans once we state the right things and the right slogans. I hope it will be beneficial for Turkish sports, for Samsun, and especially for Anatolian sports."
