İstanbulspor President Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu had pulled his team off the pitch in protest of a referee's decision during the Trabzonspor match.

In his statement regarding this decision, President Sarıalioğlu said, "It just happened to coincide with the Trabzonspor match. If VAR cannot make a decision in 5 minutes, the responsibility lies with the referees and the TFF. It is a coincidence that it happened during the Trabzonspor match. No one is more of a Trabzonspor fan than I am. We are doing our best for İstanbulspor. I am Trabzonspor itself," he said.

The president stated that their previous requests for an appointment from the TFF had been met with negative responses, adding, "They didn't give us an appointment before, but today they called and said, 'You can come whenever you want.'"

"THERE NEEDS TO BE JUSTICE"

Sarıalioğlu stated that they have no debts and that being relegated due to the penalty they might receive is not a problem for them. Demanding justice, the president said, "We have no debt. If a penalty comes and we are relegated, it is not a problem. There needs to be justice," he said.

Arguing that the TFF should be dismissed, Sarıalioğlu stated that they will continue to play their matches and that he will pay the team their bonuses as if they had won this match. The president emphasized that he stands behind his decision and that if they experienced the same situation, they would do the same thing again.
