Trendyol Süper Lig side İstanbulspor shared a formal notice sent today via the Kadıköy 7th Notary Public on its social media account. The statement, titled "We wish success to our starting 11, which will consist of the Board of Directors under the captaincy of Mehmet Büyükekşi at the European Championship," included the following remarks:
"As İstanbulspor Faal. A.Ş., we have invited the TFF to an extraordinary general assembly as of 08.04.2024.
Although TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi has announced that an extraordinary elective general assembly will be held on 18.07.2024, no official document or decision supporting this statement has been presented to the public.
"WE LEAVE IT TO THE PUBLIC'S DISCRETION"
While the only explanation provided by the TFF cites the European Championship in which our National Team will play, we leave the binding nature of this statement to the public's discretion, as it is clear that a starting 11 consisting of the TFF Board of Directors under the captaincy of Mehmet Büyükekşi will not take the field in the tournament.
Furthermore, if a decision has been made by the TFF Board of Directors regarding this date, we would like to inform the TFF and the public through our attached formal notice as to how erroneous this date is, given that it is obvious the TFF Board of Directors will not be taking the field.
For the reasons stated in our formal notice, the TFF must hold the extraordinary general assembly no later than June to prevent the current chaotic situation from spilling over into the 2024-2025 season. Otherwise, the TFF will be forced to comply with the legitimate demands of the general assembly delegates arising from the TFF statutes, whether by its own desire or through FIFA's compulsion."
