So, when the last 30 years of Turkish football are examined, which team has won the most penalties? Here are the penalty numbers won by the three major Istanbul teams from the 1990-91 season to the 2023-24 season...

THE 1990s

When the 1990s in the Süper Lig are examined, it is seen that Galatasaray took 97 penalties, Fenerbahçe 92, and Beşiktaş a total of 58 penalties over the 10-year period. While Galatasaray managed to convert 69 of the 97 penalties they took into goals, Fenerbahçe converted 72 of the 92 penalties they took into goals. For Beşiktaş, this figure was recorded as 40.

Galatasaray took the most penalties in this 10-year period during the 1996-97 season. The Yellow-Reds took a total of 18 penalties that season and missed only one of them. Fenerbahçe reached its highest number of penalties in this period during the 1992-93 season. The Canaries converted 13 of the 15 penalties they took that season into goals.
