The Gaziantep team has added 31-year-old midfielder Jamiro Monteiro, who most recently played for Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes, to its squad. The red-and-blacks have signed a 1.5-year contract, with an option for one year, with Jamiro Monteiro, who has recorded 32 goals and 39 assists in 276 official matches in his career.
In a statement regarding the transfer, Gaziantep FK said, "Our Gaziantep Football Club has reached a 1.5-year agreement, with an option for one year, with successful midfielder Jamiro Monteiro, who most recently played for Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes. Our new signing Jamiro Monteiro signed the official contract at a signing ceremony attended by our Vice President İbrahim Dicle. Born on November 23, 1993, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Monteiro began his football career at Anker Wismar. Monteiro transferred to Cambuur in 2015, later moving to Heracles Almelo and subsequently to FC Metz. He most recently transferred to San Jose in 2022. Having appeared in 276 matches in his career, Monteiro has achieved 32 goals and 39 assists. The successful midfielder, who has also played 37 times for the Cape Verde national team, has celebrated scoring 4 times," the statement added.
