Jose Mourinho: I think we have a chance

Speaking at a press conference held at Ibrox Stadium, where the match will take place, the Portuguese manager stated that they have the strength to turn around the first leg, which they lost 3-1.

Reminding that they have a team that has achieved good results in the last 18 matches, Mourinho continued:

"In this process, we only had a bad result against Rangers. Our team is currently a team that has been getting good results for 18 matches. We are not actually the team that played against Rangers last week. We are only thinking about this match right now, we are not thinking about anything else. We will also have a very difficult match in Istanbul on Sunday. We are aware of how important it is to be champions in the league, but we must not repeat our mistakes in tomorrow's match. These kinds of mistakes, the mistakes you make against a team like Rangers, against a team like this that is waiting for you to make a mistake, should not happen. You cannot make mistakes against such teams."

"WE ARE READY FOR FOOTBALL"

Emphasizing that they will take the field in a very iconic stadium, Mourinho said, "The fans will not accept a performance based on defense. We are ready for football. We expect Rangers to play the same way. Of course, they will wait for us to make mistakes and go on counterattacks. Or maybe Ferguson decides to play in a different way, maybe they score the first goal and play very strongly.

Whether they defend or attack, we have had a process where we had the opportunity to work on both situations. We worked on defensive blocks, we worked against teams that press high. I hope we can put this performance on the field and carry it to the end. The only thing I ask of my players is not to tell them 'come here tomorrow and we will qualify'. Underlining that they should enjoy the atmosphere, Mourinho noted the following:

We deserved to lose and that penalty could have been valid. It could have been a more mental change for us. We made mistakes and they used them well, turned them into opportunities. They worked together and won. I don't have any bad feelings. We played a match and now we are focused on the upcoming matches. I am only thinking about tomorrow right now and I think we have a chance for tomorrow evening."

"IF WE MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES, WE DESERVE TO BE ELIMINATED OF COURSE"

Reminding that he has played 200 matches in Europe, Mourinho said, "I don't remember losing by 2 goals in a match we played at home. I don't know how it will be in the second match. Losing by 2 at home, winning by 3 away, I've experienced it all, actually. We have to do our job for tomorrow. As long as we do our job, I don't think it's impossible.
