Juan Mata is not retiring! 'I will continue to play football'

Juan Mata made statements to the Spanish press regarding his career and his future.

After leaving Galatasaray, Mata signed with Vissel Kobe, a team in the Japanese League, and said that the past season was a wonderful experience for him.

In his statement, Mata said, "I haven't quit football and I'm not thinking about retiring either. I'm training here in London and I recently played in Japan; the truth is that it was a unique experience. It was different both culturally and sportingly. My career there ended in a wonderful way because we won the league. Sharing the same team with Andres Iniesta was a great feeling."

"I WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY"

Stating that he will continue to play football and is not thinking about retirement, the Spanish player said, "I am continuing my training and I am thinking about where to decide to play. I love experiencing things through football that I wouldn't be able to experience living in other countries, and I hope I can continue to do so. I will continue to play."

JUAN MATA'S CAREER

Juan Mata, who began his football career in the Real Madrid youth academy, later played for Valencia, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

After his contract with Manchester United expired, Mata signed with Galatasaray and transferred to Vissel Kobe in September of last year.

Throughout his career, Juan Mata has appeared in 651 matches, recording 142 goals and 158 assists in those games.
