Kayserispor supports TFF: We find it sufficient

Kayserispor Club President Ali Çamlı has expressed support for the Turkish Football Federation's (TFF) decision to hold an elective general assembly on July 18. In his statement, Çamlı recalled that during a previous Clubs Association meeting, a consensus emerged that elections should be held, taking into account the federation's operations and issues regarding its committees.

"WE FIND JULY 18 SUFFICIENT"

Stating that the federation took this into account when setting the July 18 date, Çamlı continued as follows:

"The goal here was for the federation to make a decision for an early elective general assembly. As Kayserispor Club, we find the July 18 date sufficient. I believe that making statements that lead to chaos or making an effort to complicate matters will not benefit anyone. This is both my personal opinion and the opinion of my board of directors. Therefore, we hope that the elective general assembly to be held on July 18 will be auspicious for Turkish football and our federation. Who becomes champion or who gets relegated does not concern us. Our own position and the situation of our club concern us greatly. That is why we have focused on this. We have adapted ourselves to the work that needs to be done to move our club to the best possible place in the coming period. This matter is closed as far as we are concerned."

Emphasizing that the Turkish Football Federation and clubs are very difficult places to manage, Çamlı stated that everyone who aspires to this job should be congratulated.

Stressing that this requires great courage, Çamlı noted:

"These are very difficult jobs. It is not as it appears from the outside. Whether Büyükekşi becomes a presidential candidate is his own business, but I personally want an election where many candidates compete, and the delegates choose the best candidate to serve Turkish football. We are equidistant to everyone who is a candidate. We will look at which one produces more added value for Turkish football. We will make a decision in that direction, and as the Kayserispor community, we will express our opinion accordingly. But it is worth noting that since Büyükekşi arrived, when we look at the broadcasting tender, the national team's situation in the European Football Championship, and the sponsorship of Trendyol, he has made significant contributions to the clubs. Every administration will have mistakes. We also have mistakes. President Büyükekşi has also made mistakes from time to time."

"I SAID I WOULD NOT SIGN"

Noting that the point where Turkish football, TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi, and the TFF are most criticized right now is the Central Referee Committee (MHK), Çamlı said:

"But I believe in this: I never look for malicious intent here. Perhaps the biggest mistakes this season were made against Kayserispor by the referees in charge. But I must always consider that they are also human. I do not think anyone is intentionally showing hostility toward Kayserispor. It is a referee error. We talked about foreign referees, and now foreign VARs have arrived. We will see them tomorrow as well. When we watch matches in Europe, believe me, they make more mistakes than our referees. It is a mistake to us, but not a mistake to them; one must look at it this way. Therefore, my personal opinion is that Turkish football should be managed by Turkish children. By Turkish referees. I am insistent on this. I would never want a foreign referee to come and blow the whistle in a match between our two clubs. Therefore, I hope that if the newly elected federation or the current federation makes a great effort to train better referees, educate them better, and minimize errors, there is no situation here that cannot be solved. But as I said at the beginning, there is no benefit to anyone in taking this matter to chaos or conflict. Fine, signatures can be collected, it can be taken to an election. As the president of Kayserispor Club, I stated from the beginning that I would not sign. I am stating it now as well. We find the elective general assembly date set by the federation sufficient for our part."
