Kocaelispor signs contract with Mustafa Gürsel

Kocaelispor, one of the teams in the Trendyol 1st League, has signed a 1.5-year contract, including a 1-year option, with head coach Mustafa Gürsel.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the Yıldız Entegre Kocaeli Stadium, club president Engin Koyun thanked former head coach Ertuğrul Sağlam for his contributions and efforts, wishing him success in his career.

Stating that they are turning a new page today, Koyun noted that the city, the fans, and the management are all expecting Kocaelispor to be promoted to the Trendyol Super League.

Expressing that coach Gürsel stood out during their meeting with the board members, Koyun said, "I say 'Welcome to our family.' I hope this will be beneficial for you and our community. He is aware of the club he has joined and where he is. He knows our club and our league closely. He is a coach who has achieved success in Turkey, and we know him from when he played in the 1st League play-off final with Bandırmaspor at our stadium. I hope that under his leadership, we will all experience the championship that the city deserves and has longed for for many years this season."

Gürsel: "I know the greatness of the Kocaeli community"

Head coach Gürsel also thanked Ertuğrul Sağlam for his efforts for the team so far and the Kocaelispor board of directors for appointing him to this position.

Stating that he knows Kocaelispor's goal, Gürsel said, "I know what they want at the end of this journey they started at the beginning of the season. I believe that in the remaining time in the league, we will provide the greatest contribution to the team and the community on the path to the goal, and we will reach this longed-for target together. We are ready to do whatever is necessary and more for that. I know the greatness of the Kocaeli community. May it be beneficial for me, the club, and the community."
