Another change in head coach has been added to those seen this season in the Trendyol Super League. The Çağdaş Atan era at Konyaspor has come to an end. While the club announced that they had parted ways with Atan by mutual agreement, they took action without delay to find his replacement.
The Konyaspor management has pressed the button to bring in İlhan Palut, who has served as the team's head coach before. In a statement from the green-and-white team, it was noted that negotiations with Palut have begun and the experienced coach has been invited to Konya. The statement included the following: “Our club, Tümosan Konyaspor, has invited Mr. İlhan Palut to Konya to hold evaluations and exchange views regarding the head coaching position. Mr. Palut is expected to arrive in our city tonight or tomorrow morning. The public will be informed accordingly following the meetings to be held.”
EMOTIONAL FAREWELL FROM ÇAĞDAŞ ATAN
While announcing that they had parted ways with Çağdaş Atan, Konyaspor thanked the young coach for his efforts. The club's statement said, “Our club has decided to part ways with our head coach, Mr. Çağdaş Atan, by mutual agreement following discussions. We thank Mr. Çağdaş Atan for his efforts and contributions to TÜMOSAN Konyaspor to date.”
Atan, who left his post at Konyaspor, shared an emotional message on his social media account, stating: “I would like to bid you farewell with the words of a Konyaspor legend, Mr. Aykut Kocaman; unfortunately, some flowers do not grow in some soils. I would like to thank our President Ömer Atiker and the Board of Directors, our players, especially all our staff, and the Nalçacılılar Fan Group, who welcomed me wonderfully and always supported me.”
İLHAN PALUT BACK IN KONYA
Konyaspor is sitting down at the table with İlhan Palut for the head coaching seat. Palut, who most recently managed Rizespor, left that position on November 29, 2025. The 47-year-old coach, who previously worked at Göztepe and Hatayspor in his career, managed the team in 81 matches during his two seasons at Konyaspor, recording 36 wins, 25 draws, and 20 losses during that period.
