Leclerc takes pole position at F1 US Grand Prix

Ferrari's Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc will start from the front of the grid at the US Grand Prix, the 19th leg of the Formula 1 World Championship season.

Leclerc secured the top spot in qualifying at the 5.513-kilometer Circuit of the Americas in Austin, the capital of Texas, with a time of 1 minute 34.723 seconds.

Lando Norris (McLaren) finished 0.130 seconds behind the Monegasque driver to take second place, while Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who completed the lap 0.139 seconds slower, took third.

The sprint race for the US Grand Prix will take place tomorrow at 01:00 TSI, and the main race will be held on the same day at 22:00 TSI.

In the current standings, championship contender Max Verstappen of Red Bull has 14 race wins, his teammate Sergio Perez has 2, and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has 1. The 6th leg of the season, the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, was canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
