Leclerc takes pole position at the F1 Mexico Grand Prix

Ferrari's Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc will start from the front of the grid at the Mexico Grand Prix, the 20th leg of the Formula 1 World Championship season.

In the qualifying sessions for the race, which will be held over 71 laps at the 4.304-kilometer Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit in the capital Mexico City, Leclerc secured the first grid spot with a time of 1:17.166.

The Monegasque driver's teammate Carlos Sainz finished second, 0.067 seconds behind, while Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who has already secured the world championship, took third place, 0.097 seconds behind the leader.

The Mexico Grand Prix race will take place today at 23:00 TRT.

In the current standings, champion Verstappen has 15 race wins, his teammate Sergio Perez has 2, and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has 1. The 6th leg of the season, the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, was canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
