Liverpool issues Ramadan warning ahead of Galatasaray match

Liverpool, which will be a guest of Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, has made an important announcement to its fans ahead of the match to be held in Istanbul. Taking into account the start of the month of Ramadan, the club stated that fans traveling to Turkey for the match should show sensitivity to local customs and religious traditions.

In the statement released by Liverpool, it was noted that during the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Thursday, February 19, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. The statement addressed to fans said, "While there are very few legal restrictions during this period, it is very important to show respect for local culture and traditions. It should be noted that eating and drinking in public areas during daylight hours is not socially welcomed. Although the consumption of food or drink is not prohibited for visitors during the day, showing respect for religious traditions and practices is expected behavior in the eyes of the community. Bars and restaurants in the city will continue their operations," the statement read.

The Galatasaray-Liverpool match will be played on Tuesday, March 10, at 20:45 at RAMS Park.
