Liverpool manager Arne Slot assesses Galatasaray matchup

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has made statements ahead of the Champions League Round of 16 clash against Galatasaray. Slot evaluated the draw possibilities and emphasized that they are facing a tough opponent. "Given the probabilities of the draw, it was exactly as we expected: a difficult Round of 16 draw against an opponent we have already faced this season," he said.

Reminding that Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0 at home in the second week of the season, the Dutch manager underlined that they did not perform as they wanted in the match played in Istanbul. "We know we need to show a better performance in the away leg than we did in the match we played in Istanbul in September," Slot stated.

Slot also highlighted that Galatasaray reached the Round of 16 by eliminating Juventus, touching upon their opponent's strengths. "The biggest challenge for us in this tie is that Galatasaray reached the Round of 16 after a very positive result against Juventus. However, we worked very hard to get here, we really wanted to be here, and now we want to make the most of this opportunity," he explained.
