Christian Luyindama, whom Galatasaray signed on loan for 3 million euros during the 2018-19 mid-season transfer window and later purchased for 5 million euros at the end of the season, bid farewell to the Yellow-Reds at the end of 2023.

Luyindama, who could not reach an agreement with any team during the winter transfer window and is currently a free agent, made statements to the Belgian press outlet Walfoot regarding his career plans.

Stating that he is working with a fitness coach to stay in shape, Luyindama said, "This is the first time I have been without a contract, but it does not bother me. Many players experience a similar situation throughout their careers."

The experienced center-back, who played for Standard Liege between 2017 and 2019, gave the green light to return to his former team.

Luyindama said, "If the executives contact me, I am open to talks. I am in good condition, Standard is my home. I had a great time, and if I need to return to continue the story, I will do it."

The 30-year-old Luyindama, who celebrated winning the Belgian Cup with Standard Liege in 2018, won 2 Süper Lig titles, 1 Turkish Cup, and 1 Turkish Super Cup at Galatasaray.
