The condition regarding the purchase option in the contract of Ernest Poku, whom Beşiktaş added to their squad from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer transfer window, has been clarified.
The Black and Whites had transferred the 22-year-old Dutch winger with a 3 million euro loan fee and a conditional mandatory purchase option. It was stated that the option in question depends on the number of starts in the Süper Lig.
Accordingly, if Poku starts in 18 matches in the Süper Lig, the purchase condition will be triggered. In this case, Beşiktaş will be required to pay an additional 20 million euros to Bayer Leverkusen.
Poku has received playing time in the Süper Lig matches against Çorum FK, Erzurumspor, and Amedspor so far. Although he was in the squad for the Fenerbahçe derby, he did not play.
The young footballer only started in the Amedspor match among these games. Therefore, for the option condition to be met, Poku needs to start in 17 more matches in the Süper Lig.
