It has been reported that Glint Manisa Basket, one of the teams in the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League, will compete in Kocaeli in the new season.
According to information shared on social media by Manisa Journalists Association President Önder Aydın, the club's decision to relocate was discussed during a phone call with Glint founder Şahin Tuna Vardar.
It was stated that Vardar cited the lack of sufficient support in Manisa and the goal of preventing potential future financial problems as the reasons for the decision to move Glint Manisa Basket, which they purchased for 3.9 million dollars in recent months, to Kocaeli.
According to the same information, Vardar said that they have received a promise of support from the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, that the necessary approvals have been obtained from the Turkish Basketball Federation, and that the official announcement will be made next week.
