In the 28th week of the Trendyol Super Lig, Gaziantep FK was defeated 1-0 away by Antalyaspor.

Speaking at the press conference held after the match, Gaziantep FK manager Marius Sumudica began his remarks by saying, "Today is my birthday, and I'm not even lucky on my birthday. I don't know when I will be lucky."

"ANTALYA HAD MORE OPPORTUNITIES THAN US"

Evaluating the match, Sumudica stated, "We switched to a back four in the match. We actually switched to a back four today. We started playing with a four-man system. We wanted to control the game a bit more. We wanted to control the midfield a bit more, but it didn't yield results for us. As you know, we were playing with a back five before. In the system where we played with a back five for the last 3 months, we only lost to Galatasaray. And that was with a goal that came in the final minutes. And as long as we played with this system, we won the Istanbulspor, Alanyaspor, and Karagümrük matches. We took points from Sivas and Pendik. We finished these matches with points. Because we switched to a back four today, Antalya found a bit more opportunity than us. I can say they got into more positions."

"MAXIM'S POSITION WAS A PENALTY"

Stating that he does not want to talk much about the referees, Sumudica said, "Maxim's position was a penalty. When the VAR referee calls, it means there is a situation, there is a penalty situation, he needs to look at it. But I also want to state this: the Antalya community was angry or frustrated with the federation or the referees. Of course, I can say that whoever makes a fuss about the referees on television, the referees can show a bit more tolerance towards that side. I don't want to talk much about this subject, but the result is already clear."
