Markus Gisdol, the new head coach of Yılport Samsunspor, one of the Trendyol Süper Lig teams, stated that their goal is to remain in the league.

In a statement made on the club's social media account, Gisdol conveyed that the players welcomed him very well.

Emphasizing his happiness at being at Samsunspor, the German coach said, "I have had similar experiences to Samsunspor's current situation before. Teams like Hamburg, Cologne, and Hoffenheim all stayed in the league. Everyone is aware of this, which is why I came here. Our current goal is to stay in the Süper Lig."

Explaining that he started the job two days ago and that they are continuing their training at a high tempo, Gisdol assessed, "I spoke with my players; they are all doing their best and fighting for their spots. I gave them advice. Everything that happened in the past is now behind us. What we need to do now is focus entirely on the present. That is exactly what my players are doing."

Pointing out that he has not yet seen Samsun because the team is in a training camp in Antalya, Gisdol noted the following:

"I am looking forward to going to Samsun. It is a city I am very curious about. Our fans are a group that understands football. Samsun is a football city. I have heard very good things, which is why I came here. I can promise the fans this: they should know that we will give 100 percent. Our players will also give 100 percent on the pitch in every match. Our fans will notice this on the field as well. I believe that with their support, we will play some very good matches."
