Marseille bids farewell to Mason Greenwood, who transferred to Fenerbahçe: 'He carried the team to the Champions League'

A farewell statement has been released by the French club for Mason Greenwood, whom Fenerbahçe transferred from Marseille. Olympique de Marseille thanked the English footballer, who wore their jersey for two seasons, for his contributions to the club.

Marseille's statement recalled that Greenwood joined the squad in the summer of 2024. The club emphasized that Greenwood continued his impact in the attacking line during the 2025-2026 season as well. The statement expressed that the footballer played in 45 matches in all competitions, produced 26 goals and 11 assists, and finished the season as the Ligue 1 top scorer.

Marseille also announced that Greenwood was one of the five finalists for the UNFP Player of the Year award in the 2025-2026 season. The French team noted that the player left a mark on the club with his technical capacity and influence on the attacking game.
