The Madrid representative, who finished the first half in the lead, started the second half quickly as well. In the 50th minute, Vinícius Júnior doubled the lead, making the score 2-0.

The visiting team found a goal in the final part of the match. Although Toni Martínez brought the score to 2-1 in the 90+3rd minute, there were no more goals in the remaining time.

With this result, the Madrid team ended their two-match winless streak and reduced the point gap with leaders Barcelona to 6 points with a game in hand. Alaves remained at 33 points.
