Medal pride from national athletes
Turkish athletes Bahattin Üney and Pınar Demir won bronze medals at the Ostrog Half Marathon held in Montenegro.

The Balkan Senior Championships, in which eight countries participated, were held in Montenegro. The national team, which participated in the Ostraski Polumaraton 2024 Half Marathon with Pınar Demir, Mahsun Değer, and Bahattin Üney, completed the championship with 2 bronze medals.
According to the statement by the Turkish Athletics Federation, national athlete Bahattin Üney finished 3rd and Mahsun Değer finished 6th in the men's senior category in the race held in the city of Nikšić.
Thus, Turkey took the top spot in the men's team rankings, ahead of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pınar Demir, who competed in the women's senior category, also crossed the finish line in 3rd place.
In the men's senior category, David Nikolli (Albania) finished first, Luke Micallef Perconte (Malta) finished second, and Bahattin Üney (Turkey) won the bronze medal with a time of 1.11.01.
While national athlete Bahattin Üney won the bronze medal by finishing third in the individual rankings with a time of 1.11.01, Mahsun Değer finished 6th, and Turkey became the champion based on the total team scores. Montenegro finished second, while Bosnia completed the championship in third place.
In the women's senior category, Luiza Gega (Albania) finished first, Marinela Nineva (Bulgaria) finished second, and Pınar Demir (Turkey) won the bronze medal with a time of 1.27.58.
