Mircea Lucescu: Beşiktaş's squad is very inadequate

Beşiktaş's former head coach Mircea Lucescu said that he received a coaching offer from the black-and-white club last January but did not accept it.
Speaking to the Italian sports website Tuttomercatoweb, Lucescu explained why he turned down the request from Beşiktaş with the following words:
"I said 'no' to Beşiktaş. How can you think of winning the championship with this team that has been built? I said I could come from the beginning of the season. If that is possible, fine; otherwise, I do not feel the need to coach a team at any cost."
