Montenegro defeats Turkey for the first time in history: We conceded 3 goals

The Turkish National Football Team faced Montenegro in their sixth and final match of the UEFA Nations League B Group 4.

In the 19th minute of the match played at the Niksic City Stadium, a goal scored by Montenegro's Stevan Jovetic was disallowed due to offside.

The Crescent-Stars equalized in the 37th minute of the match. Kenan Yıldız connected well with a low cross from the right wing by Orkun Kökçü and sent the ball into the net.

Montenegro took the lead once again in the 45th minute with a goal from Nikola Krstovic, who met the ball inside the penalty area following a pass from Jankovic: 2-1.

The first half of the match ended with a 2-1 lead for the home team.

As the national team pushed forward for an equalizer, they conceded another goal. Krstovic rose well to meet a cross from the left wing by Ognjen Gasevic and headed the ball in to make the score 3-1.

With this goal, Nikola Krstovic completed a hat-trick in the match.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY

There were no more goals in the remainder of the match, and Montenegro emerged as the 3-1 winners. With this result, Montenegro defeated Turkey for the first time in their history.

With this result, the National Team suffered their first defeat in the Nations League, remaining at 11 points and finishing the group in 2nd place after losing the lead in the final match. Turkey will play a play-off match to earn promotion to League A.

Montenegro, having earned their first points in the group, reached 3 points and finished in last place, resulting in their relegation to League C.
