Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has announced that he is withdrawing from the Indian Wells Masters due to injury. Nadal stated, "I am not ready to play at the highest level in such an important tournament."
Rafael Nadal, who also withdrew from the season's first grand slam tournament, the Australian Open, due to injury, will not be participating in the Indian Wells Masters either.
In a post on his social media account, the Spanish racket said he would not be participating in the tournament because he is not yet ready.
It was stated that Nadal is expected to compete next month in the Monte Carlo Masters, where he has been champion 11 times. The Spanish tennis player had previously reached the championship at Indian Wells 3 times.
"NOT AN EASY DECISION"
In his statement, Nadal said, "I am not ready to play at the highest level in such an important tournament. This is not an easy decision. It is really very difficult, but I cannot lie to myself and the fans."
Rafael Nadal did not participate in last year's tournament due to injury as well. Sumit Nagal will replace Nadal at Indian Wells.

Before the season's first grand slam tournament, the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal was injured in the quarterfinals of the Brisbane International, in which he was participating.
Nadal, who suffered an injury during his match against Jordan Thompson, had announced that he would return to Spain for treatment and would not be able to take part in the Australian Open.
