National boxer Hatice Akbaş becomes European champion

National boxer Hatice Akbaş became the European champion in the women's 51kg category at the European Boxing Championships. Facing Spanish athlete Laura Fuertes Fernandez in the final, Akbaş emerged victorious, bringing a gold medal to Turkey.

Akbaş, a graduate of the Coaching Education Department at Inönü University's Faculty of Sports Sciences, has added another success to her international achievements. With this result, the national athlete has carried Turkey to the top of the European Boxing Championships.

Inönü University Rector Prof. Dr. Nusret Akpolat also congratulated Akbaş in a post on his social media account. Akpolat stated that the national athlete's success is a great source of pride for the university, the city, and the country.
