The 20-year-old national athlete, who reached the semifinals by defeating French fencer Caroline Queroli, South Korean Yun Soyeon, Maia Chamberlain from the USA, and Japanese fencer Misaki Emura in the organization, advanced to the final by beating South Korean Choi Sebin in that round.
Losing to Spanish fencer Lucia Martin-Portugues in the Grand Prix final, Nisanur Erbil won the silver medal, took the second step on the podium, and wrote her name into Turkish fencing history with the result she achieved.
