National shooters return from European Championships with 7 medals
National athletes achieved significant success at the European Air Gun Championships held in Yerevan, Armenia, between February 27 and March 5, 2026. Turkey completed the championship with a total of 7 medals, including 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze.

Competing in the 10m Air Rifle Solo Senior Women's category at the championship, Damla Köse won the gold medal, securing Turkey's first-ever European championship in this discipline.
In the 10m Air Pistol Trio Men's category, Yusuf Dikeç, İsmail Keleş, and Buğra Selimzade won the gold medal to become European champions. In the 10m Air Pistol Men's Team category, İsmail Keleş, Yusuf Dikeç, and Buğra Selimzade won the silver medal. In the 10m Air Rifle Women's Team category, Elif Duygu Eren Kotoş, Damla Köse, and Elif Berfin Altun secured the silver medal. With this result, Turkey became the European runner-up in this category for the first time in its history.
In the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team category, Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan won the silver medal. In the 10m Air Rifle Women's category, Elif Duygu Eren Kotoş won the bronze medal, marking a first for Turkey in this discipline in the senior category.
In the 10m Air Pistol Trio Women's category, Şevval İlayda Tarhan, Şimal Yılmaz, and Esra Bozabalı were the recipients of the bronze medal.
