National taekwondo athletes won 3 silver medals at the European Taekwondo Championships held in Serbia.

In the event, which began today in the capital Belgrade and features 520 athletes from over 40 countries competing for medals, Hakan Reçber, competing for the national team in the men's 63kg category, advanced to the final by defeating Tobias Hyttel of Denmark in the semi-finals.

National taekwondo athlete Hakan Reçber, who suffered an injury during the final match, was defeated by Omar Gergely Salim of Hungary and took home the silver medal.

Another national athlete, Merve Dinçel Kavurat, competing in the women's 49kg category, advanced to the final by defeating Bruna Duvancic of Croatia in the semi-finals. Merve Dinçel Kavurat was defeated by Adriana Cerezo Iglesias of Spain in the final match and finished the championship with a silver medal.

Sude Yaren Uzunçavdar, competing in the women's 73kg category, advanced to the final by defeating Yanna Schneider of Germany in the semi-finals. National taekwondo athlete Sude Yaren Uzunçavdar was defeated by Althea Laurin of France in the final and won a silver medal.
