New assignment for Halil Umut Meler from UEFA
FIFA-licensed referee Halil Umut Meler will officiate the Round of 16 match between England and Slovakia at the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024).

Halil Umut Meler will officiate the match between England and Slovakia in the EURO 2024 Round of 16.
According to the statement made by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Halil Umut Meler and his team have been appointed to their third match in the tournament.
In the match that will start at 19:00 TSI on Sunday, June 30, at the AufSchalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Meler will be assisted by Mustafa Emre Eyisoy and Kerem Ersoy. The fourth official of the match will be Rade Obrenovic from the Football Association of Slovenia.
Marco Fritz from the German Football Association will serve as VAR, Christian Dingert as AVAR, Tomasz Kwiatkowski from the Polish Football Association as VAR supervisor, and Jure Praprotnik from the Football Association of Slovenia as the reserve assistant referee.
Halil Umut Meler had previously officiated the Belgium-Slovakia and Poland-Austria matches at EURO 2024.
