As reported by NtvSpor from The Telegraph, ball boys will no longer hand the ball directly to players; instead, they will place the ball on the nearest cones located along the sidelines.
HOW WILL THE NEW SYSTEM WORK?
Ball boys will leave the ball on an empty cone and wait at designated spots.
They will not be positioned next to the cones.
A total of 14 balls will be available along the sidelines, with 7 on each side.
The Premier League administration made this decision to eliminate the possibility of home teams gaining an advantage by interfering with the game through ball boys.
It was stated that the new rule will be implemented starting from the 2024-2025 season.
