Fenerbahçe Sports Club has released a statement regarding the incidents that took place during the away match against Göztepe.
The statement issued by the Yellow-Navies regarding the matter is as follows:
"WE ARE ASKING THE AUTHORITIES"
The allegations appearing in some press and media outlets today, claiming that the individual named Fatih Özkan—a football terrorist who physically attacked our President Ali Y. Koç from behind during our Football Team's away match against Göztepe—is a habitual offender, must be handled with seriousness.
As a result of all these allegations, we ask the authorities:
1-) Are the claims regarding this dark individual's extensive criminal record true?
2-) If the allegations are true, how can it be explained that such an individual was accredited by Göztepe SK and was on the sidelines during the match?
3-) While the question of whether a club president can go down to the sidelines during a match is being questioned by the aforementioned media and the public, is it not extremely meaningful that the situation of this individual, who is alleged to have an extensive criminal record, on the sidelines is not being questioned?
4-) After being caught following the treacherous and cowardly attack, why was no action taken against the individual in question, how was this person able to watch the remainder of the match, and how was he able to leave the stadium shaking hands with law enforcement officers and walking out freely?
5-) Where does the audacity of this mental blackout, lawlessness, and disregard for the law come from?
We expect the above questions to be answered by all relevant parties and authorities.
